Information is being added all the time. If you can’t find anything as yet on FamilySearch then you could try Ancestry. You will surely find something there and connect with other family members, which I have done.

I have actually been looking for an alternative to the oh so very popular ancestry.com. Thanks for showing me that there are other sites out there! Which one do you recommend?

I have used both Ancestry and FamilySearch, and I have found them to be excellent resources of information. FindMyPast is also another very good genealogy site that I have used and highly recommend.

I never knew such service existed until now, and with their free service people will have the opportunity of finding where they come from originally. I believe many people are interested in finding out their family tree and all that, especially in North America. I will surely look this site up and explore it more.

    Thank you for the information.

My grandad is spending hours trying to look at his families past, I will definitely tell him about this site. He often uses ancestry which i think is the most popular one at the minute, its amazing how these databases can track back so far, it can help so many people out who don’t even know who their families are.
    Thank you!

It’s great that you have reviewed a free online resource that many budding genealogists can use. This would be a great start for anyone who are unwilling to spend when just starting their research.

I’m just curious to know if there are any major differences between free and paid websites. Will we have access to a bigger database if we pay for the service? The written resources can serve as a great guide too, and they are pretty affordable.

    Thanks!

This is a great collection to purchase that will help you get the most from Family Search. At $70 it is a great investment.

My advice is first check what you can find from free resources. You can find many documents and information online concerning your family history. I know because I have found information that way.

The paid sites do offer more sources of information. But as I just mentioned check what you can find for free first. That way when you come to the paid services you won’t be paying for what you have already found
